Frodo has some strange qualities of being amazing. Apart from his kindness to everyone around him, his inherent goodness needs a special mention too. He's too good. Too good for this cruel, cruel world that doesn't appreciate him enough. We all want a friend like Sam, but how many of us are willing to be like Frodo? Cuz without Frodo being what he was, there can never be Sam the friend that everyone wants. Frodo bears the worst imaginable burden in Middle-earth, shines like elves and is kindest to Gollum. When I read Lord of the Rings, what amazes me the most is how well written and mysterious the character of Frodo is. he's enigmatic and subtle. you don't know what he's going through and you don't know what he's capable of. Tolkien didn't write him as an “as it is” character. His motives and inspiration are left to our imaginations and his pains depend on what we feel. he has the power to inspire his friends to follow him to death and at the same time to fill wretched Gollum's heart with sympathy and redemption. he even makes Saruman feel ashamed(if that be the correct word) as well which makes him leave the shire eventually.
